March 31st 2012, Be A Gunner. Be A Runner.
‘Be a Gunner. Be a Runner’ will return to Emirates Stadium on Saturday 31st March 2012.
If you’re looking for a New Year challenge, this 10-lap, 6.4 kilometre fun-run around the outside of the Gunners’ home could be the event for you! Registration for the run will open in early January for all Arsenal fans, keen runners and anyone else who would like to support Save the Children, but you can register your interest in taking part NOW by sending your name, address and contact details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Following the success of the 2011 event, there will also be another special junior race on the day for youngsters under the age of 15, making it a real occasion for all the family. Look out for more information soon on www.arsenal.com/juniorgunners.
Entry to the race for adults costs £15 and due to the limited number of spaces available, all runners are encouraged to raise at least £100 in sponsorship. Any runner that manages to raise over £500 for the charity will be deemed a ‘Top Gunner’ and will receive a special gold running number on race day. Participants will also receive a series of weekly newsletters featuring a host of useful training and fundraising advice, as well as a full event guide ahead of race day.
Last year’s event was the most successful to date, attracting 700 adult and junior runners and raising in excess of £50,000 for charity. This year, the Club is hoping to do even better and is also extending the race to overseas fans, who will be able to get involved and find out more via their local Supporters’ Club in the New Year.
All funds raised from the event will go towards supporting Save the Children on a range of education projects in the UK and overseas, helping the poorest children get a better start in life and giving them the chance to grow and fulfil their potential. Through this work, the Club will help Save the Children towards its vision of transforming the lives of over three million children a year through education by 2013.

Volunteers!
Do you enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of Race Day, but don't actually want to run yourself (or maybe you are not able to at the moment)? Would you enjoy helping out and getting involved? We always need people to be part of our fantastic trusted band of volunteers. Duties can be anything from marshalling, manning the finish funnel, water stations or tea/coffee stand, or even setting up the course - different duties but all vitally important in order to have a safe and successful race.
Or perhaps you know of someone else who enjoys watching you running, who may not mind lending a hand - it's very satisfying and fantastic fun!
