September 16th 2012 at 09:30am, Pharmalink Maidenhead Half Marathon

PMHMfinal-logo2012This road race has been designed to showcase the glorious scenery around Maidenhead and will rival all other local half marathons.

Take this opportunity to run on a flat, fast, traffic free road course. The route will start and finish in Maidenhead town centre and take in Bray, Cookham, and a lovely scenic stretch following the road alongside the River Thames.

With a town centre start, there is plenty going on for runners and spectators alike. Local businesses will be offering coffee, lunch and general shopping, so it would be an ideal time to make a day of it and stay around for lunch/shopping afterwards.

With over 2000 runners in it's first year, this event is expected to grow quickly, so get your entry in early to be sure of your place!

Runners in the 2011 inaugural race keep their race number for the future of the race. Once they have run the race five times their number will change colour to indicate their achievement to all.

Volunteers!

Do you enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of Race Day, but don't actually want to run yourself (or maybe you are not able to at the moment)? Would you enjoy helping out and getting involved? We always need people to be part of our fantastic trusted band of volunteers. Duties can be anything from marshalling, manning the finish funnel, water stations or tea/coffee stand, or even setting up the course - different duties but all vitally important in order to have a safe and successful race.

Or perhaps you know of someone else who enjoys watching you running, who may not mind lending a hand - it's very satisfying and fantastic fun!
